Mon Escobedo

Aaniin, hello, hola!

My name is Mon Escobedo. I’m from Mexico and I arrived to Canada 3 years ago to study my masters in Sustainability Studies. I started with TRACKS as an evaluation intern and have been able to grow within the organization in the past 2 years.

As an immigrant in Canada, I believe in learning and understanding the history of the place, and the responsibilities that come with being an uninvited guest on this land. Through TRACKS I’ve been able to see how important it is to teach children different types of sciences and knowledges, so that they are open to diverse knowledges and not only the science they learn at school.

I am also passionate about our connection with the environment and how nature helps our physical, emotional and mental health. I love walking in nature, hiking and camping, it always makes me feel more centered.
