Mikayla Fokkens

Aaniin! My name is Mikayla (she/her). I have been a guest here in Nogojiwanong for the past four years and am originally from the Niagara Region along the coast of Lake Erie.

I am in my fourth year of Geography and Global Development Studies with a minor in Indigenous Studies at Trent University. I have a passion for outdoor land-based education, environmental sustainability and creating meaningful learning experiences. 

I am excited to begin this new position, where I hope to continue expanding my knowledge and skills while gaining hands-on experience working with youth as I pursue my goal of becoming a future educator.
