Aaniin! My name is Lauren MacLachlan.
I’m from Unama’ki, Cape Breton. I come from a background of Lebanese and Scottish ancestry. I am a graduate of Indigenous Studies and International Development Studies at Trent University. I recently completed my Masters in Geography at Guelph University with a research focus on Mi’kmaq-led conservation in Unama’ki.
I am an all around lover of nature, and love crafting with plants, making inks, spoon carving, and weaving baskets. I have worked in outdoor education and organic farming. You can find me outside listening and looking for birds, admiring squirrels, and learning about plants.
