Toppling Towers - Assembly

Book this assembly-style workshop to learn about what Indigenous Knowledge has to do with the balanced and healthy ecosystems. Students will learn Anishinaabemowin, meet the beings that are part of nearby ecosystems, and play an engaging game of giant jenga!

All TRACKS workshops combine Indigenous Science and Western Science within an environmental context. All workshops will relate to the natural world and encourage kids to think about their responsibilities to the land.

Workshop details:

As an assembly-style workshop, this program can accommodate multiple classes at once. While students will still have the opportunity to engage in a "hands-on" experience, please note that this workshop has more sitting and listening compared to a regular TRACKS workshop. If you'd like a fully experiential program, please request one of our workshops that are designed for 1 class at a time.

Grades: 1-12. While we can run this workshop for multiple grades at a time, we'd suggest combining similar grades together, so that students can have a learning experience fine-tuned for their grade! (E.g. a K-8 school could split their grades into K-4 and 5-8 groups).
Length: 60 minutes - timing is flexible to align with set class periods
Cost: $250 plus travel fee

Pathway to Stewardship and Kinship Connections: Landmarks 7, 12, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 29

*Booking a gymnasium, library or other large space with a screen is necessary for this workshop.
