Mitig Camp

Mitig, meaning "tree" in Anishinaabemowin, stands tall and connects to other beings with their roots. In Mitig camp, campers will connect to their traditional knowledge roots and grow tall in their cultural gifts!

August 18th-21st

Time:

8:30am-3:30pm

TRACKS Tipi at Camp Kawartha Environment Centre and Trent University's Gathering Space

Who:

Indigenous youth (First Nation, Metis, Inuit) 6-12 year olds

*Our Mitig camp is open to all Indigenous youth (First Nation, Metis, Inuit). This camp is designed as an affinity space for Indigenous youth, where campers can connect with each other, the land, and their culture. Affinity spaces like this are important because they offer young people a chance to connect with their culture and community, learn from Knowledge Holders, and feel proud of who they are as Indigenous youth of Turtle Island. While this camp prioritizes registration for Indigenous youth, TRACKS will also be offering other camps throughout the year that are open to all youth.

Price:

Sliding scale between $105 ($21/day) and $525 ($105/day).

A NOTE ON PRICE:

This camp day is priced on a sliding scale between $21 and $105 per camper per day to ensure financial accessibility. We hope that this will be accessible for most, but please indicate in the registration form if this baseline price is limiting and we will be able to provide a full subsidy (this requires a separate Subsidy Application Form).

TRACKS is proud to offer accessible camps to families in Nogojiwanong and nearby communities. We are happy to continue to offer a sliding scale for our camp programs depending on your family’s situation. At the same time, we ask that you honour this pay scale by paying as much as your circumstances allow, as fees help support our programming.
