Over the course of the summer, the Summer Trailblazers host 4 Land Camps that are open to other Indigenous youth to attend. Our Summer Trailblazers work really hard to plan and facilitate fun and educational Land Camps for their peers. Below is a poster used to promote these land camps in 2023!

All Land Camps start at 10am and go until 3pm. Lunch is included and participants receive a $25 honourarium!

What do youth get to do and learn during a Trailblazer Land Camp?

All Land Camps are based around a Traditional Knowledge topic with teachings shared by an invited Elder or Knowledge Holders, as well as a craft or hands-on activity. Each year, topics of the Land Camps are chosen by our Summer Trailblazers. Over the years, topics have included: Berry teachings, Water and fish teachings, Medicine wheel teachings, Shaker making, Basket weaving and more!

Below we've included some examples of the types of land camps that have been offered!
