  1. How many years have you worked/volunteered with TRACKS?

This is my first year working with TRACKS. I’ve been in two different positions, but am currently the School Programs Coordinator.

  1. What is your favourite part about working at TRACKS?

My favourite part about working with TRACKS is being able to work with a diverse group of people and learning more about Indigenous and western Science. 

  1. What programming is your favourite to run and why? 

My favourite programming that TRACKS has is Toppling Towers. The programming promotes Indigenous language revitalization, reciprocity and respect for the environment and its ecosystems. 

  1. What is your favourite nature fact? And share what it is.

My favourite nature fact is that crows can remember faces and if you make friends with them they might bring you little trinkets. 

  1. What is your go to native plant for teachings and why? 

My go to native plant for teachings is Giizhik (cedar) because it has a lot of teachings and medicines to offer us. 

  1. What is your favourite activity to do outside of work? 

My favourite activity to do outside of work is to read; my goal this year is to read 100 books. 

  1. What is the most important thing you learned while working at TRACKS?

The most important thing I’ve learned while working at TRACKS is that there is always more to learn. 

  1. Where is your favourite natural area to visit in Nogojiwanong and why?

My favourite natural area to visit in Nogojiwanong is Jackson Park; I love being near the water and the trees.

  1. What inspired you to get into outdoor and INSTEM education?

My  hopes for the future is to have on the land teaching and learning for my future students, is what inspired me to get into outdoor and INSTEM education. 

  1. If you could give advice to anyone who wants to get into this field of work, what would you tell them?

I would tell them to sit outside and watch the natural world around them; Mother Earth has so much to teach us.
