Biodiversity and Indigenous Knowledge

How and why do ecosystems connected to Indigenous nations and people host some of the highest rates of biodiversity in the world? This workshop will invite us to closely observe the natural spaces that surround us daily. We will visit a floating bog ecosystem with Beedahbin Peltier and will discuss why ecosystems thrive when land is under the protection of Indigenous peoples. We'll also dig into why these knowledge systems are so important when it comes to our changing climate.
