We can hardly wait to welcome Spring with a PA Day on April 5th!
Join us to take advantage of the beauty of Spring, as Mother Earth begins to awaken and once again provide nourishment, energy and medicine for all beings. We will spend most of the day outside exploring the Drumlin and Nature Areas on Trent University's campus looking for natural medicines. Then, we will spend some time inside sewing our very own medicine pouches to take home at the end of the day.
In an exciting change of plans, we have been invited to spend the day in Curve Lake at the Sugar Bush! We will meet at Trent University and take a bus to Curve Lake to meet knowledge holder Jack Hoggarth who will take us through all the processes involved in traditional maple syrup making, from collecting sap all the way to taste-testing. Campers will hear traditional teachings about sugar bush and will have plenty of time to play in the forest in between the hard (but rewarding!) work of making maple syrup.
